Alan is a consultant chemist with over 35 years’ experience in the water treatment industry, working with one of the largest water treatment companies in the major industrial and process sectors with major account responsibilities in Steel, Oil/Gas, pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
In 2002 Alan formed ChemTech Consultancy to provide, predominately the Scottish area with, quality Legionella risk assessment and compliance services.
This company grew to become the largest independent provider of those services in Scotland and was subsequently sold to Rock Compliance in 2020 as part of Alan’s exit strategy.
Alan is also an experienced trainer in Legionella control having provided customer training courses for almost 15 years.
His qualifications are a B.Sc. (Hons) in Pure and Applied Chemistry from the University of Strathclyde gained in 1979 and he is a Fellow of the Water Management Society.
