Duncan Smith is a Principal Specialist Occupational Hygiene Inspector with the Health and Safety Executive’s Field Operations Division.
Duncan is the HSE Legionella Portfolio Holder and co-Chair of HSE’s Legionella Technical Working Group. He is involved in:
- investigation of work-related cases, clusters and outbreaks of Legionnaires’ disease;
- supporting enforcement action and prosecutions;
- training HSE inspectors;
- writing and contributing to internal and external guidance; and
- commissioning of research.
