DAY ONE PROGRAMME:
Day one will give LCA applicants and existing members guidance and mentoring on the requirements of the LCA. In July 2025, the application process changed from a descriptive statement of compliance to a structured application form.
In the first day session we will cover:
• The requirements of the application process and the information that needs to be captured on the application form for a successful application
• The process of training your staff in the areas they need to understand to deliver good outcomes, what good training looks like, how to evidence knowledge and training
• Assessment of competence including how to create a competence assessment process and how to create template document, how to record competence and how to make sure competence can be evidenced.
• Creation of written procedures including method statements, where to go for aide memoire and template report frameworks to facilitate high quality service delivery
• How to carry out internal auditing, what it’s for, what tools to use and how to report
• Escalation process and how to escalate issues that keep you awake at night
• Open session for applicants and members to ask questions

Day two will cover a selection of tools that are used in Legionella Control including electronic log books, point of use filters, remote monitoring and hydrogen peroxide. Control measures, updates and case studies from Northern Ireland’s expert speakers.
