ESFA confirms SMEs can access the apprenticeship service & funding from January 2020

Issued 30/10/19 by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA)

ESFA have confirmed that SMEs (those that do not pay the apprenticeship levy i.e. have a payroll of less than £3m/year), would soon be able to access the benefits of using the award-winning apprenticeship service. The service, already in use by large employers, will give SMEs, the majority of LCA members, access to apprenticeship funding.

To support this, additional funding will be made available for up to 5,000 new apprenticeship starts through the service per month between January and March 2020. Access to the additional funding will be open to all main Training Providers that remain listed on the register of apprenticeship training providers (RoATP).

This means that up to £14,250.00 funding may be available for training and competence development & assessment over a two year period for any employee of any age to improve their knowledge, skills & productivity.
