The LCA in the UK are aware that a similar organisation has recently been set up in North America with similar goals. UK LCA have had some initial queries and discussion with this group but are not directly involved in its funding, creation or development.
The LCA of North America did engage the LCA UK to support due to our similar goals. It was the view of the LCA Management Committee that this was above and beyond the remit of the LCA UK. We did ask LCA UK members to express an interest in supporting the LCA North America and this is being progressed as a separate exercise by the LCA of North America.
The LCA in the UK is a non-profit organisation and as such we are not able to directly take part or assist. We encourage and applaud the individuals in the United States and Canada taking these steps and we wish them well.
